Beds and schedules

We got a new bed yesterday. Actually, we bought it a couple of weeks ago, but it was just delivered. Um... I'm not happy. I think it's too hard and I don't think it's going to get better. I wanted a comfortable bed. I know they have to be broken in, but my hopes are slim.

Good thing we have 60 days. I have a feeling this one's going to be returned. We followed all the suggestions when shopping for the thing: laying down on it for 15 minutes, in the position in which you normally sleep. Which for me, is all four sides. This bed was my second choice - the one I really wanted cost too much. Naturally.

The thing is, I've slept on beds in hotels or B&Bs that were comfortable and wonderful. That's what I wanted. Instead, I feel stiff and bruised. So 15 minutes in the store is not enough to tell how the bed will feel.

Yesterday was my presentation at the Senior Seminar and it went quite well, thank you. I love public speaking. Just give me an excuse. There was a nice announcement in the paper, too, where I was touted as the "main speaker" and allowed a nice bio. Too cool.

Now the definitive moment: will I get more clients?

This morning, I've made waffles for the freezer and I still need to cook some beets, and shell and cook peas. This will get me caught up on my veggie box. I'm behind on that after spending 4 days at BayCon. We didn't eat at home much this weekend. I have another veggie box coming tomorrow, so I must get caught up.

Must go to the gym. Must. Go. To. The. Gym.

Must.

I have shopping and cooking to do today and I must get to it because I'm on a deadline and I haven't even decided what to cook yet and I screwed up the waffles I baked this morning and the kitchen is a mess and I have party favors to make and e-mail to answer and vegetables to pick up before I go to the party this evening.

And this is supposed to be fun.

Oh, and I didn't sleep last night.

I did manage to take a shower.

On the upside, the sun is shining and it will be warm. The trees are busting their buttons and my seedlings are growing. I wrote over 1100 words in The Way of the Land (formerly Donamorgh) yesterday, which doesn't quite make up for the approximately 3000 words I didn't write over the last week.

I keep thinking of other things to do. And I haven't been writing in my morning pages. No, it's not spring fever. I know what that feels like. It's not depression, either, although it maybe is skirting the edges of depression.

I think I'm just overwhelmed. And since y'all know what that's like, already, I'm just going to meander off and try to get something done.

I shall report tomorrow.

Run from these people

I am spending the day on hold. It's been one and a half hours.

Who the hell runs a business like that?

IPower web hosting, that's who. Not only that, but their web templates are for the birds. I don't have my business web site with them. It's the new personal chef chapter I belong to. They wanted something cheap to start with. Well, that's what we got...

Good investments are a speaker phone and a national calling plan. Of course, it is a toll-free number, but still.
